The Bradford breakin scene has been going from strength to strength over the years and each edition of Bradford Brawl continues to raise the bar. For the Bboys and Bgirls of Bradford, this internal event has become a highlight of the year. Dancers dedicate months to crafting their showcases and sharpening their skills for the battles, all aiming to leave their mark on Bradford’s breakin history. With Bradford Brawl 2026 just around the corner, lets take a look back at what went down last year.

Last year’s edition of Bradford Brawl marked the largest and most exciting one to date. The anticipation in the lead-up, from all crews and competitors was nothing short of electric. Special guests began arriving a few days before the event and the energy could be felt through every class as we edged closer to the Saturday. Every crew entered with clear goals, creating a thrilling atmosphere of competition and performance. The level of preparation and dedication from the breakin community as a whole was incredible.

Bboy Marius, representing MDK (UK), kicked off Bradford Brawl with his workshop in the morning. The turnout was exceptional, with almost 30 Bboys and Bgirls in attendance! Although Marius has taught previous workshops in Bradford before, no one wanted to miss what he had to share this time around. The high quality of Marius’ workshops is evident – people always want to come back for more. Some Bboys and Bgirls took things further and applied what was taught just a few hours later at the event. This was amazing to see.

B.Smooth were the opening act of the Brawl, setting the tone for the event, showing their progression as a team. They made their debut at Bradford Brawl in 2024 so it was amazing to see their growth altogether and to see them united in their first ever crew kit.

Next up was Windhill Clan, taught by Bgirl Spider, who showed great diversity within their showcase, incorporating locking elements once again within their performance along with partner work which proved to be very effective and exciting to watch.

Next up, the newly formed crew ‘Heat Force’ from Cleckheaton took the stage, just a month into their training and they already delivered an amazing performance. Under the guidance of Bgirl Ammo, who has been leading these dancers, they showcased great timing, character, and cohesion. It’s truly impressive what they’ve achieved in such a short time and with Ammo’s leadership, one can only imagine how outstanding this crew will become in a year.

West Side Breakers, one of the most experienced crews at the event having been established in 2019 were up next. Taught by Bgirl Labyrinth. their show displayed levels of difficulty, details and musicality. Their floor section within the show was particularly enjoyed by the judges as it was very different from what they had previously seen and helped to further showcase their level of experience.

Poplars Farm Primary School followed up and put a smile on everyone’s faces. These Bgirls only had 3 weeks to prepare and they were incredible. They brought the energy in both the showcase and the battles. It was their first time performing, attending an event and competing, all in a single day. Watching them rise to the occasion was nothing short of incredible. They truly represented their school and themselves to the fullest.

Concrete Roses came through with a high level performance taught by Bboy Tranquil, showcasing their experience as a crew with their timing, tricks, transitions and creativity. They even brought a surprise element at the end of their show which the audience really enjoyed.

Tech Styles Central, a collective of Bboys and Bgirls from different crews that upskill their breakin and performance level each week, came through with another incredible show. They brought new concepts, use of props and used the stage as a whole in new ways. They have grown as a collective since the Bradford Brawl 2024 and the new members really stepped up to the challenge.

The Bradford City Breakers – the city’s youngest Bboys and Bgirls – truly stole the show. Taught by Bgirl Labyrinth & Bgirl Spider, their unique characters and creativity shined brightly in their performance, making them an absolute joy to watch. With minimal guidance, they delivered an exceptional showcase that earned them the ‘Showcase of the Year’ award. Congratulations to this talented young crew, the future is bright!

The Bradford Brawl 2025 battles were highly anticipated. The narratives surrounding each Bboy, Bgirl and crew has intensified over the years, raising many intriguing questions. Would a new crew emerge victorious in the crew battles? Could Westside Breakers secure back-to-back championships? Who would take the crown in the 2v2 battles? And, of course, who would be crowned Tranquil Productions’ ‘Breaker of the Year’? With so much at stake, all eyes were on the battles to provide the answers.

Bradford Brawl 2025 Eathen, Elijah & Millie

This year we had 2v2 categories for both under 10s and over 10s. It was a great addition to the event and really added value. Given the significant growth of the Bradford breakin scene, these categories provided the Bboys and Bgirls with the opportunity to challenge themselves against peers within their own age group – a beneficial experience for all involved.

For the 10 and under category, it came down to Elijah and Carter (Bradford City Breakers) vs Harry and Chloe (Windhill Clan). This was an incredible battle to watch as these breakers are truly the future of the Bradford scene, aged at just 6-9 years old. Congratulations to Bradford City Breakers on their 2v2 win! These Bboys dug deep in the finals and propelled their way to the top. Congratulations to Harry and Chloe of Windhill Clan for making it to the finals. It was their first time making it this far at an event which is a great feat!

In the 2v2 10 and over category, the competition was intense. Westside Breakers made it to the finals once again, facing off against Concrete Roses. Both crews are among the more experienced in Bradford’s younger scene, making this matchup especially exciting to watch. In the end, Concrete Roses emerged victorious! Congratulations to Dexy and Milo on their win. Congratulations also to Alina and Willmatic for making it to the finals — they definitely gave their opponents a tough challenge!

Bradford Brawl 2025 2v2 10 and over winners Concrete Roses

Right after the 2v2s, the crew finals kicked off with a rematch between West Side Breakers and Concrete Roses. Having just seen these two crews battle it out in the 10 and over 2v2s, the excitement was on a high. Could Concrete Roses defeat Westside Breakers twice in a row? The battle was a real back-and-forth with both crews not holding back, showcasing great routines and tactics. In the end, there could only be one winner, congratulations to West Side Breakers for claiming back-to-back champions! What drove their success last year shined even brighter this time around. They truly embodied the spirit of crew both on and off the floor. A big shoutout also goes to Concrete Roses for making it to the finals once again. Though smaller in size, they remain a strong and formidable presence at every Bradford Brawl! You can view the crew finals below.

And then came to time to crown our newest Tranquil Productions’ Breaker of The Year 2025. Who was it going to be?

Breaker of The Year 2025 Bgirl Ammo

Congratulations to Bgirl Ammo representing Clean North Crew for taking the win! She first earned the Breaker of The Month award at just 12 years old and competed in the first Breaker of The Year battles back in 2018. Since then, she has competed in this battle three more times (2019, 2021, and 2022). Through hard work and dedication to her training, Ammo has steadily risen in the scene. This well-deserved win is a testament to her growth and consistency over time. It has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be happier for her! Bradford Brawl Tranquil Productions' Breaker of The Year 2025 Bgirl Ammo

The Awards Ceremony returned this year, serving as a special highlight of the event by recognising Bboys and Bgirls for their various achievements over the past year. This Bradford Brawl was also the first to present each participant with a handcrafted wooden Bradford Brawl medallion. It was a memorable moment, making sure every Bboy and Bgirl left with a unique keepsake to commemorate the occasion.

DEDICATION

The first award was given to none other than ‘The Assassin’, representing West Side Breakers. Much like last year’s winner, she began her breakin journey at Bowling Park Primary School before joining the Westside Breakers’ Tuesday evening class. Since then, she hasn’t looked back. Dedication has been key to her progress because without it, she wouldn’t have earned a spot in Tech Styles Central (an invite only session). She consistently stays on top of her breakin skills and routines across all her classes. Not one for many words, she lets her dancing and actions do the talking. Her commitment to breakin even inspired her name, The Assassin, a perfect match for such a strong Bgirl. Keep an eye on her!

THE HEART

Bradford Brawl 2025 awards Casey, The Heart

There was no one else more suited for this award this year than Casey, representing Concrete Roses. Her willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it may be needed is amazing. She is always punctual for every class and activity that goes on within the scene and always tries her best across all sessions. Characters like Casey are important to the breakin community. They help to keep the scene strong, supportive and welcoming for everyone. They help to create a positive environment that allows the culture to thrive. Congratulations Casey.

THE BATTLE CAT

Right out of the gate, Aaliyah stood out in the battles at Bradford Brawl. It was the attack, unique style and flow that she brought to her rounds that secured her this award. This was her first Bradford Brawl and what a time to shine!

REP THE CULTURE

Milo is constantly seeking ways to grow in his breakin journey, whether it’s learning, watching, or listening, he embraces every opportunity to stay on track and deepen his understanding of the culture.

In 2025, Milo travelled to New York with his family and he made the conscious effort to expand his Hip Hop knowledge both before and during the trip, taking up DJing and graffiti alongside his breakin.

True Hip Hop heads understand how essential the other elements are in shaping and supporting the one you focus on most. Milo has even picked up photography, using his skills to support community events. This is yet another example of his commitment and willingness to learn, grow and give back. His growth over the years has been amazing to witness and this year, it was only right to recognise his journey with this award.

BREAKER’S BREAKER

Bradford Brawl 2025 awards Idris, Breaker's Breaker

Past winners of this award all share similar traits. They bring charisma, presence and energy on the floor making them some of the most exciting dancers to watch. Breaker’s Breaker is a special award voted for by the attendees of Bradford Brawl and in 2025 it went to none other than Idris of Concrete Roses. He stood out with his attacking approach to every battle, always giving 100%. Idris brings real intensity to his rounds, but always with a smile, making him a real crowd favourite.

Bradford Brawl 2025 - Award winners

As you can see, last year’s event was incredible. However, we have a feeling Bradford Brawl 2026 is going take things to an even higher level!

We will have at least 8 showcases this year to look forward to alongside the crew and the 2v2 battles. The Bboys and Bgirls of Bradford are already hard at work preparing for the event. Will Concrete Roses come back and take the win in the 2v2s? Will West Side Breakers be able to threepeat in the crew battles? Who will take the ‘Showcase of The Year’ award or will the young guns, Bradford City Breakers, be able to become x2 champions?
