OUR VISION

For Bradford to host one of the largest annual celebrations of Hip Hop in the world, that remains true to the culture. Bringing together the best local, national and international artists to share and inspire each other. We want to elevate the level of the Hip Hop arts in Bradford and to celebrate this God given culture, changing people’s lives by bringing them together through Hip Hop. We want to create a sustainable platform to showcase skills, spark creativity and allow people to express themselves, finding and developing their inner artiste. To share and enjoy real Hip Hop in a peaceful and safe environment.

We want to see Bradford communities thriving through Hip Hop arts. By facilitating projects throughout the year we can collaborate with artists, businesses & organisations to engage young people and adults in creative workshops & events that are current, relevant and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The beginning

Tech Styles started as a local breakin event in 2013, organised by Tranquil Productions. Tech Styles was the first continuous Hip Hop event to run in Bradford for over 20 years and attracted dancers from all over the UK and parts of Europe. These events were only possible with the help of God and due to the passion, drive and goodwill of those working with Tranquil Productions and the help of other active members of UK Hip Hop community.

Development

Tech Styles 4 (2017) gained massive support from multiple organisations and charities, we were recognised for the social impact we had across Bradford and the UK. This was a hugely successful event and due to Tech Styles’ rapid growth the decision was made to officially form Tech Styles into a Ltd company and become a social enterprise.

Social Enterprise

It was the end of an era for Tranquil Productions passing on the Tech Styles events to Tech Styles Dance Ltd but at the same time very exciting to see the future possibilities for the growth and development of this truly amazing event. Tech Styles has a solid track record of delivering high-quality, well organised events which stay true to Hip Hop culture, whilst progressing the arts scene and impacting the community. Below is a list of partner organisations Tech Styles Dance Ltd have worked with during our previous events.

TECH STYLES EVENT MAXIM

DISCIPLINE | RESPECT | BATTLE

We remain true to Hip Hop culture within our events and ensure we keep moving forward in the right direction as we grow.

DISCIPLINE

Dedication

If you truly represent Hip Hop then in whatever art form you choose, you must be disciplined. From breakin to graffiti it takes years of training and honing your skills, it takes blood, sweat and tears to be at the top of your game.

~

RESPECT

Got to have it!

From discipline comes respect, self-respect and respect for those following a similar path around you. You recognise the love you put in to Hip Hop and give respect to those who do the same. Without respect there is nothing to hold things together. Respect for the rules, the culture and the history.

BATTLE

Progress

After discipline and respect are in place then it’s time to battle. Put your skills to the test against others and show people where you’re from, who and what you represent! Discipline and respect grow the more you battle. Battling keeps you grounded and keeps you motivated, win or lose, always be true to yourself!
